Recalibrating: Information for Parents and Carers

The last few years have been challenging for most people, with COVID having a very negative impact on people’s mental health and wellbeing. During the UK lockdown, many young people experienced feelings of loneliness, isolation and a lack of social connection with others. As a result, research shows that the use of online platforms to access mental health and wellbeing support rose dramatically. To add to this, it is well reported that waiting times for young people reaching out for specialist mental health support are extremely long. It is argued that the number of young people in need of treatment for mental health difficulties has risen by 39% over the past 12 months.
